PLC based systems for building automation

PLC systems are an integrated part of all industry and machinery control. Based on experiences in the industry Grue+Hornstrup in 1997 implemented the first PLC based BEMS solution to Ericsson in Struer, and since then this reference project has shown the strengths in using industrial control components for building automation. The advantage of transferring industrial based technology for usage in building automation is a great amount of flexibility and a non-comparable reliability. Modern industrial systems are prepared for communication through a long line of standardized protocols, among those TCP/IP. Through this the administrative networks systems, present in all modern buildings, can be used as an integrated part of the BEMS system solution without the need for establishing an individual system for technical purposes.

Grue+Hornstrup has provided PLC based systems for building automation for various large customers like Statens Serum Institute, The National Research Center Risø, Novozymes and the Nimb in Tivoli.
The reference list shows examples of buildings with our PLC based system solutions.
